OBJECTIVE
After the passing of a prominent member of the Las Vegas community, his family was left with resources and a dream: To build a foundation whose sole purpose is to support, grow, and improve the educational opportunities in Nevada and provide the children in the State with the education they deserve. They came to CIM Marketing Partners needing a full brand, marketing materials, foundation messaging, and a strategic plan to launch the foundation. With CIM’s experience in nonprofit organizations, we were confident that we could build the foundation’s brand effectively.
STRATEGIC PLAN
With so many organizations focused on education and supporting children, we knew that we needed to make them stand out. Thankfully, the foundation was planning a large launch which would naturally garner significant media attention. It was our job to create a brand package and messaging which distinguished the organization from others in the area. We needed to communicate not only the purpose of the foundation, but the foundation’s leadership, long history in the State, and the foundation’s funding, as it would operate primarily through the trust established by the founder’s family.
EXECUTION
To start, we met with the executive team leading the foundation to understand their vision for the foundation, their ultimate goals, and the look they envisioned. After capturing their ideas, the CIM team met to brainstorm ideas for the logo and messaging. After presenting a few options, the executive team chose their favorite concept, colors, and fonts. We used this information to create the rest of the brand package, including letterhead, folders, website, presentation materials, business cards, and more. With the design chosen, we focused on the messaging, positioning the foundation as an organization focused on improving education in Nevada and, ultimately, supporting the State’s children.
The creation of all of the materials culminated in the launch of the foundation, where a randomly selected third grade class in one of Clark County’s most at-need schools received the gift of a fully funded college education, paid for by the foundation. RESULTS
The foundation’s launch caused substantial media attention and the foundation’s logo, messaging, and website traveled far and wide to be seen by thousands interested in learning more about the foundation. Since the foundation’s launch, they have launched an education lobbying organization, received countless local and national media coverage, and have continued to support the education efforts throughout the State of Nevada.
